8 Great 3-D Target Brands

One key to keeping your cash register ringing is keeping your archery range hopping. And there’s no better way to stack the shooting line than to offer a wide variety of interesting and fun 3-D targets.

Below are eight great brands to consider. While a few of the targets shown are probably more expensive than John Doe will want to purchase for his backyard range, many models are quite affordable, so give serious consideration to stocking them in your shop.

Rinehart

The newest addition to Rinehart’s (608-757-8153; www.rinehart3d.com) Competition Series is the Corsican Ram ($540; below), which has all of the features for which Rinehart is known: renowned self-healing foam and a self-healing replaceable locking insert. The ram is 34.5 inches tall and 48 inches long. Rinehart also added a handsome-looking Grouse ($106) and a Raven ($100) to the Competition Series, and a Coyote and Strutting Turkey to the Woodland Series. Likely the most talked about new target from Rinehart is the 7-foot Sasquatch in the Masterpiece Series. Made from the company’s signature series UV-resistant foam, this giant target offers a replaceable locking insert and is sure to deliver years of reliable use.

Delta McKenzie

Delta McKenzie (801-539-1400; www.dmtargets.com) added three new targets to the Big Daddy Series for 2018 — the Baby Daddy ($130), Hoosier Daddy ($180) and Big Daddy ($250; below). All three are made from 100 percent solid self-healing foam that will withstand thousands of shots but also promotes easy arrow pulling. Another great feature is the exclusive horizontal joints that make for quick and easy set-up; this system also ensures that the targets won’t fall apart when shot or moved. A new antler-assembly socket system keeps the antlers in place without using the spikes commonly used on many 3-D targets, while realistic vitals and scoring rings keep you ready for tournaments or your next hunt.

3-D Target

GlenDel

It has always been hard to classify the buck target from GlenDel (800-282-4868; www.glendel.com) into a category. Is it a broadhead target, 3-D target, field-point target or layered-foam target? Well, the answer has always been all of the above. The GlenDel Buck ($170; below) is made to be the size of a 200-pound whitetail buck with a height of 56 inches. The insert measures 11x11x11 inches and is made from an open-layer Polyfusion material. All four sides of the insert can be shot, adding much life to the target. When the insert wears out, a separate insert ($70) is available. Other pieces of the target are also replaceable.

3-D Target

Leitold

A relative newcomer to the U.S. market is the L.G. Animals 3-D targets by Leitold (www.leitold.at). There are literally dozens of different targets from which to choose, from small varmints and birds to bison and even a gorilla. New to the line this year is the Standing Red Deer ($1,400; below). This target measures 66x16x63 inches. Like all of the L.G. animal targets, it is a one-piece target made of solid self-healing PU foam that provides easy arrow pulling. Also standard on Leitold targets is IFAA scoring rings. These targets are UV-resistant for long-term use.

Big Shot Archery

This year, Big Shot (888-651-0029; www.bigshottargets.com) added an Antelope ($270) as well as a Mule Deer ($350; below) to the R&W competition 3-D targets line. The company also added a ProHunter line, which currently includes a Real Size Deer that comes with either a single core ($220) or a dual core ($230). The dual core offers both a field-point and broadhead core; the single core is available in your choice of broadhead or field-point core. Also new in the ProHunter line is a Groundhog ($60) and a Raccoon ($70), which can be purchased as a critter combo ($120) or individually. ProHunter targets use Big Shot’s Elasto-Flex foam technology to offer both durability and easy pulling.

3-D Target

Kustom King Archery

The Raccoon/Longlife 3D target ($174; below) from Kustom King Archery (877-566-4269; www.kustomkingarchery.com) is a great addition to the company’s already extensive line of small targets. Made from special self-healing foam, this target has exceptional stopping power for its small 11x27.5-inch size and light 7-pound weight. Kustom King targets also have holes for anchoring the target down, as well as marked scoring vitals.

3-D Target

Shooter 3D

The Hog ($70) from Shooter 3D Archery Targets (800-282-4868; www.shooter3d.com) is a great option for those wanting to add some 3-D targets to their backyard range without breaking the bank. Each target is a one-piece solid design with included ground stakes and scoring rings.
