Bowtech Pro Shooter Paige Pearce Wins NFAA Western Classic for 9th Time

Team Bowtech’s Paige Pearce has once again won the NFAA Western Classic. The event, held in Redding, California, is renowned for attracting the most talented archers from around the world, serving as a true test of skill, precision and mental fortitude at varying distances from 3 to 101 yards, not to mention battling the weather. The win marked Paige’s 9th victory at this event, an amazing feat.

“This weekend I am so excited to stand on top of the podium for the 9th time at Redding!” Pearce said. “With incredibly challenging weather and steep competition. My equipment and I had to be perfect for 3 days straight! At that game, there’s no room for error, and I am so thankful I could count on my Bowtech Reckoning Gen 2 36 to help me pull off a 1,533 and the win!”

2024 NASP Eastern National Tournament Success

One of the largest archery tournaments in history took place recently in Louisville, Kentucky; 15,510 student archers gathered at the familiar Kentucky Exposition Center to compete in NASP Bullseye and 3D archery. In addition to the thousands of student archers in attendance who advanced from state tournaments in 31 states, more than 45,000 friends, family and volunteers were present to support these student athletes.

As one of the world’s largest archery tournaments ever, 14,494 archers submitted scores in Bullseye and 6,445 archers likewise competed in 3D during the 3-day event. 3D archers took their aim at foam replicas of various North American big game animals. As a part of all three national NASP events, random $500 Bullseye scholarships were awarded to Eastern National competitors/students.

In addition to the Bullseye and NASP/IBO 3D Challenge competition, The On Target for Life Awards (OTFLA), a program that recognizes students and adults who exhibit tremendous community and team service, courage to overcome challenges, and special academic achievements, were also awarded for their actions. Click here for 2024 OTFLA details.

ATA’s 2024 Quarter 1 Retail Trend Tracker Survey Results Available

The ATA finalized and published results for the Q1 ATA Retail Trend Tracker Survey in a report that's free to ATA members and available to nonmembers for a fee. The exclusive quarterly report helps industry members make critical business decisions, crucial to increasing profits and growing archery sports.

The ATA compiles the data and sends key takeaways from each survey to its members, who can download the reports for free through the ATA’s Resource Library in their ATA member dashboard. Nonmembers can buy the quarterly resources for $250 each or pay $450 for all the survey data in a year.

FYI to ATA members: As of March 1, 2024, the ATA switched platforms for its member dashboard. Because of the switch, all members will be required to create an account through the new portal. About the survey: A statistically significant number of ATA retail members were chosen in each region to provide information on overall sales, types of sales, and customer demographics. In addition, open ended questions on what consumers are talking about and challenges and concerns owners are facing provide insight into the current retail environment. The results from this survey are presented nationally as well as regionally and can be compared to the previous quarter to help identify trends and hot topics.

USA Archery and Move United Partner to Expand Archery Programming to Veterans

USA Archery and Move United, which previously partnered together to develop a free Adaptive Archery Manual and Video Series, have teamed up again to expand adaptive archery program offerings to veterans nationwide.

Move United, the national leader in community-based adaptive sports with more than 230 member organizations in 45 states, will support USA Archery’s efforts to host archery instructor certification and program training at four Veterans Affairs (VA) centers, as well as one Move United member organization that serves disabled veterans over the next year. All five locations will receive a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Training, the required program materials, and an equipment kit.

“USA Archery is proud to continue its partnership with Move United with a new focus to bring archery programming to VA centers,” said Mary Emmons, USA Archery’s Chief of Sport Performance and Operations. “Approximately 10% of USA Archery’s members are veterans, many of which participate recreationally, but have also achieved Paralympic Games success. Together, Move United and USA Archery have remained committed to growing access to adaptive archery education, programs and events for participants of all ages.”

Partnerships like the one between USA Archery and Move United will continue to lay the foundation for creating new opportunities for people with physical disabilities to recreate, compete, and possibly represent Team USA at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, on home soil in Los Angeles in 2028, and beyond.

“The power of sport builds relationships, not only between athletes, but also between organizations,” said Move United Executive Director Glenn Merry. “Move United is proud to share in a partnership with USA Archery that drives access and participation for Warfighters to this great sport. USA Archery’s leadership in adapted sport has already resulted in thousands of people with disabilities picking up quivers and testing their shooting skills across the country.”

S3DA Hosts Record-Setting Western Indoor National Championship

Scholastic 3-D Archery recently hosted the third annual Western Indoor National Championship at the Easton Archery Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nearly 250 archers from twenty-one S3DA teams across the United States competed for their chance to be crowned the next “Western Indoor National Champion” in their respective class and age division.

This year marked the first time the event was held at the Easton Archery Center, a state-of-the-art facility that caters to all archers from beginner to professional. The event being held at the Easton Center was very helpful as all the infrastructure was already in place.

S3DA Executive Director Holly Helton said, “We are very pleased with the experience of hosting a national tournament at the Easton Center. All the equipment already being on-site made the event run smoothly. The center staff were very accommodating and the assistance from S3DA State Coordinators and volunteers was second-to-none. The 2024 S3DA Western Indoor National Championship was a crowd favorite, and we definitely look forward to 2025!”

One of the pillars of S3DA has always been the chance for archers in the “Young Adult” division who podium, to be presented with thousands of dollars in scholarship opportunities from colleges and universities. S3DA being constructed around a system of age divisions and equipment classes allows for archers to specialize in niches of archery that secondary schools across the nation are looking for and are reaping for their programs. Many schools offered scholarship opportunities to the podium finishers at the event with some of those archers already having signed to shoot collegiate archery next year.

S3DA National Sponsor, Bohning Archery, attended the event and marketed to the large crowds of archers and spectators. The Bohning booth was packed all weekend with enthusiastic archers eager to learn more about Bohning’s vane and fletching materials.

The Easton Archery Center is located about 10 minutes from Salt Lake City, Utah, which is known for its world-class outdoor recreation and spectacular landscapes. This is a must-see facility that will be home to the 2025 Western S3DA Indoor National Championship.
