“Pope and Young is North America’s leading bowhunting conservation organization,” said Steve Allie, senior marketing director of ScentLok. “It doesn’t matter if you have a ‘record book’ animal or are still looking to punch your first tag; if you are a fair chase, ethical bowhunter, and care about preserving the culture and future of bowhunting, then you should belong to Pope and Young.”

“Illustrating their commitment to Pope and Young by purchasing memberships for their customers is encouraging to say the least” said Dylan Ray, Pope and Young director of marketing. “We want to be the voice of all bowhunters, fighting to protect the rights of every individual hunter, and having the support of a hunting powerhouse like ScentLok significantly helps our efforts.”

Easton Shooters Sweep Dutch Nationals

Easton shooters swept the premiere categories at the Dutch Indoor Nationals recently in Den Bosch, The Netherlands. Mike Schloesser (“Mister Perfect”) once again took the men’s compound title, while Olympian Steve Wijler took men’s recurve. Quinty Roeffen took the women’s recurve title, and Sane De Latt took the compound women’s title.

Coincidentally, both Easton and the Dutch Archery Federation are celebrating their centennial in 2022. “Since 1922, the Dutch Archery Federation and Easton have had close ties, with Easton gear being the premier arrow choice of Dutch athletes for the vast majority of their century of archery,” said Gary Cornum, Easton marketing director. “We send congratulations to the Dutch federation athletes on this incredible shared milestone!”

IHEA-USA Opens Registration for Annual Conference

The International Hunter Education Association – USA (IHEA-USA) is the professional hunter education association affiliated with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service hunter education programs. These programs employ 55,000 instructors, many of whom are volunteers, teaching hunting and shooting safety and responsibilities throughout the United States.

The IHEA-USA recently announced registration for its 2022 Annual Conference is now open. Because the 2021 virtual conference was successful, the 2022 Conference will be both live in West Palm Beach, Florida, for industry professionals, as well as virtual for all volunteer hunter education instructors to easily attend.

Scheduled for May 17-19, the live conference is at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harborside Place in West Palm Beach. This year’s event features keynote speaker Steve Rinella of Meat Eater, and a shooting exposition on range day from three-time Olympic gold medalist Vincent Hancock. Additionally, there will be more than 20 Educational Sessions and Speakers, new Hunter Education Research Sessions, hands-on field and shooting events, awards and more.

The 2021 inaugural 50 for 50 Awards, presented by SIG Sauer, which awarded 50 United States hunter educators in 2021 for their relentless dedication to hunter education will also be awarded in 2022 due to positive response. The recipients of this award are chosen by their peers within their state and epitomize the patience and experience required to devote your time helping others remain safe in the field. Going forward the program will be called the IHEA-USA State Instructor of the Year Award under this perpetual program presented by SIG Sauer.

Alex Baer, executive director of the IHEA-USA, said, “Like everyone in our industry, we’ve been looking forward to comparing solutions and necessary program developments inspired by COVID’s challenges., As a national community, we have taken advantage of trying times to continue our own learning by performing a variety of empirical research that we will present at the conference and we believe will help state fish and wildlife agencies and educators create more successful and committed new hunters.”

There are many other conference sponsorship opportunities still available to manufacturers.

To register as a professional or a volunteer, visit the IHEA-USA website. For more information about conference sponsorship, contact sponsorship@ihea-usa.org.
