Plum Creek Archery in Dyersville, Iowa, is no stranger to the Archery Business pages. In 2015, it was presented a Dealer of the Year Award. That was quite an accomplishment for the then 5-year-old shop.
One of the main reasons wind caught the shop’s sails so quickly is that the Goldsmith family, their employees and staff shooters all genuinely enjoy archery and helping their customers be successful archers. In fact, Plum Creek Archery’s motto is “Our aim is your success.”
Though planted in the heart of whitetail country, Plum Creek Archery isn’t a bowhunting-only shop. No, it also houses four shooting ranges, including the new BowSims 4D Cinema Archery Range. The shop provides a JOAD Program, holds tournaments and offers recreational archery.
“Our goals with the ATA Show are the same every year,” Tom Goldsmith of Plum Creek Archery said. “First and foremost, we go to fill out and submit program orders at the ARRO Hot Show prior to the ATA Show. Secondly, we go to learn. We attend the morning seminars, and this year we really enjoyed the new Coffee Talks. Thirdly, we visit with the vendors and talk about pricing, lead times and new products.”
“This year, lighted nocks were high on our to-look-at list,” Goldsmith said. “We’ve experienced some MAP violations with nocks we previously carried, so we wanted to find a replacement. We landed at the Glory Nock booth. We like how they work, and the pricing is right. We’re excited about bringing them into the store.”
“It isn’t a new product, but new to us at the show was the Schaffer XV arrow rest,” Goldsmith continued. “We instantly sensed that the company helps dealers with MAP pricing and makes sure the rests aren’t sold online under MAP. Besides our interest in the rest, we’re very interested in the company itself and what it’s all about.”
“We’re a Bowtech dealer, so we’re very pleased with the new Reckoning bow,” he added. “It features the new Cam Drive technology, which is designed to eliminate cam lean and adjust center shot. That bow really stood out at the show.”
“Last year, Primos released the SurroundView blinds,” Goldsmith said. “It seemed to be well-received, so we’re bringing in one of those. And, Primos incorporated the same technology into its new portable turkey blind, the Double Bull SurroundView Stake-Out. We ordered some of those, too.”
